ABOUT THE COMPANY
Cork & Luna Journaling Co. comes from the inspiration of two sisters who believed that journaling should not have to compromise sustainability. Diana and Lizzy have always found comfort in the meditative act of writing. After years of journaling, they had stacks of journals tall enough to fill a library. The journals took up too much room, and the thought of the materials and resources used to produce them was literally earth-shattering. That is when an idea started utilizing a more sustainable approach, and Cork & Luna Journaling Company was born.
Cork & Luna barks back (with cork) toward reaching the goal of sustainability and lowering their environmental impact, while offering a solution to those who rely on planners, journals, and to-do-lists. Whether you are a student, writer, artist, or traveler, we have something to accommodate a variety of needs.

Cork is an all-natural renewable and sustainable resource that is fully biodegradable.
It is an evergreen tree that does not get cut down. Instead, its bark is harvested from trees every 9-12 years, allowing it enough time to regenerate and continue the harvesting process all over again.
Harvesting cork bark does not harm the trees; it promotes clean air by absorbing CO2 through its regeneration process. In other words, harvesting cork aids in the offset of our carbon footprint by being “climate positive” or “carbon negative” 3-5 times more than if we didn’t harvest Cork Oak trees.
We source our cork from Jelinek Cork Group

1) Cork & Luna has partnered with One Tree Planted to plant one tree for every “Corky” starter kit purchased. Planting a tree not only replaces the resources we are taking, but it generates biodiversity with cleaner air to thrive in.
2) The goal of a refillable journal is to produce less waste, so we make sure our packaging comes with fully recyclable materials that contain no plastic from noissue.
3) Cork & Luna is running on 75% renewable energy from Arcadia, and we hope to make it to 100% in the near future.
4) Our handmade journals are made in small batches allowing us to not partake in mass production and mass consumption that many large retail stores have to face.
We hope that as we continue to grow we are able to improve in our sustainable journey, as well as yours.
