4634. “I realized this whole time you know what I thought was beautiful is actually really sad. So that was my first exposure to sustainability and my first wake-up call that I wanted to change my own lifestyle, but also you know do something for others so that they can change their lifestyle too.” Diana Noriega Weng has always had a passion for travel and the activities that go along with it. Born in Cuernavaca, Mexico, she frequently visited the U.S. before moving there at 12 years old. As she settled into the Bay Area, attended @sanfranciscostate, and became a language teacher, she also began participating in beauty pageants where she met her now husband. “I didn’t really start a lot of international travel until I met my partner. He’s been to like 80 countries already and I’ve been to maybe 50 countries.” With him, she’s done everything from scuba diving in the Caribbean to going on a safari in Africa; however, through these trips she’s realized the importance of sustainability. From understanding that the white corals on beaches are dead to the fact that the biodiversity of safaris is decreasing, she felt called to make her own impact. Diana therefore started @pear.life, a lifestyle brand with a focus on sustainability and self-care, and now runs her business alongside adventuring around the world!
