Hello, Explorers!

During these upcoming winter months, it is extremely difficult to keep your skin health consistent. With many factors like wind chill, dry air, lack of Vitamin D, and the cold coming in; maintaining glowy, dewy skin is quite a challenge. In collaboration with @ttiiaannlu, take a look as she shares her Winter Skin Care Routine with you!

Common winter skin issues:

  • Cold temperatures are naturally drier which means drier skin.

  • The quick transition from cold outdoor temperatures to heated rooms dehydrates your skin even further.

  • Sun damage is more noticeable in the winter when your summer tan fades.

  • Holiday events = late nights, lots of (often unhealthy) food, and alcohol consumption makes your skin look tired and puffy.

  • Many of us associate hot weather with the sun being out. However, during wintertime, people often forget to wear SPF daily. Even if the sun is not as prominent, UV rays still manage to get through and affect your skin drastically.

  • Chapped lips due to the wind-chill factor

Ways to combat winter skin:

  • Exfoliate more regularly (1-3x per week).

  • Switch to a cream cleanser for extra hydration.

  • Use a hot washcloth to steam your face for a minute before rinsing off your cleanser. This helps open up your pores, improves exfoliation, and your skin will be more receptive to the absorption of the products you use.

  • Scalp care:

    • People forget that the scalp is also part of your skin and is key to maintaining good hair health. It takes on more abuse in the winter because wearing hats causes more static.

    • Apply a spray toner on your scalp after washing your hair.

    • Invest in a scalp scrub and a luxurious scalp tonic.

    • Take extra time while shampooing to massage your scalp until your arms get sore!

Ingredients that are your friends:

  • Hyaluronic acid attracts moisture and can hold on to moisture throughout the day.

  • Vitamin C brightens skin so sun damage from the summer is less noticeable when your skin loses its summer tan.

Embrace winter skin!

  • Rosy cheeks > add a 2-in-1 lip & blush cream product to add a touch of color while locking in that moisture.

  • Highlight that glowy, dewy, beautiful skin of yours with an illuminating highlighter (a Pear Life personal favorite!).

  • Cold weather outside means staying in and practicing self-care. Read more about, How To Practice Self-Care, taking baths, treating yourself to a face mask, journal prompts, using essential oils, practice meditation, do yoga, and more...

We hope these tips and products can help you battle dry and chapped skin this winter! Happy Holidays & Happy Skin Health!Goodbye, Explorers!
